The red grape known for its
importance in the blending of Bordeaux wines as well as classic 100 % Merlots
of Chateau Petrus. Many California and Washington wineries produce soft wine
that is very approachable when young, yet tannic enough to age into
wonderfully complex wine.

The red grape that produces
arguably the greatest red wine in the world. The wines are always fruity, but
may seem tannic when young. The complexity and flavor will improve with
aging.

Wine produced from the Pinot Noir
grape, yielding a supple, rich wine of varied complexity and a deeper color.
Cote de Nuits is more robust and complex with a floral character and a
perfume-likebouquet. Cote de Beaune is richer in fruit, largely reminiscent
of strawberry and raspberry, and is lighter in style.
